Year 7 and 8 students break ground!

On Friday 10th of June, 2016, our latest classroom project was officially launched at Chepkinoiyo Academy. The school held a special assembly to introduce the project and to begin work on site.

School Director, Professor Adam Chepkwony, shares news of this special day:

"The announcement of the two new classrooms for Std 7 and 8 was received with much excitement and appreciation by the pupils themselves, teachers and the school management. The community feels that they are blessed and wants you to know that they are thankful for your contribution and indeed that of the people of Australia.

As you can see in the pictures, the Std 7 and 8 pupils were the ones who broke ground for the construction of the two classrooms. The idea that the classrooms will come fully furnished with desks was too much for the pupils to comprehend. I tried to explain to them the idea behind these classrooms and it was difficult for many to understand – What great love they thought. As seen in the pictures, the truck was off loading bricks – 6000 of them are now on the ground. We could not wait to see the trucks brings sand, but a few hours after we left 44 tons of sand was brought and today I believe a truck full of ballast was brought. We are still working on the foundation stones and hopefully we shall deliver on site soon."

Look forward to bringing you more updates soon!
